Seasons Change – a poem

Evening sun sets fire to fields of spring blooms
Brilliant rays burn through layers of summer haze
A pregnant sun rises tardy as the autumn fades
Sun shards splay across the snow of barren winter

Winds weave playfully in and out of spring blooms
Warm chinooks envelope and disperse summer haze
Falling leaves lift and swirl in a dance of praise as autumn fades
Wild winds stretch and reach to tousle the barren winter

The missing moon spreads darkness over spring blooms
Moonbeams gently kiss the earth in summer haze
Heavy hangs the harvest moon as autumn fades
Quarter moon holds hands with daylight in barren winter

Thunder bellows at thick raindrops drowning spring blooms
Electric arrows pierce the sticky humid summer haze
The sky cracks open tremor upon tremor as autumn fades
Thick and heavy, rain and cloud veil the hills of barren winter

…this is how seasons change

  1. This is beautiful. There are many who would like to write poetry and I celebrate their efforts but when you read the real thing it is as refreshing as the sound of a babbling brook over round stones. You feel cool and rested and renewed.

  2. I really didn’t do this justice on first reading. They like to call me a romantic and a dreamer blah de blah but I really love this. Maybe it’s the DH Lawrence fan coming out. Wild winds and barren winters. Love it πŸ˜‰

      • Oh noooo … I was thinking that when winter turns to spring …we might see another from you πŸ™‚

By the way, last night … we watched a movie (Snow White and the Huntsman) … not exactly what I’d pick for me and the daughter…but she picked it. Anyway .. during one scene, where the wicked mother fell down and crawled across the floor after magically coming back from somewhere … as I sat on one end of the sofa…I FLUNG myself over the length of it…and fake crawled to the other end. The child looked at me like I was a total goof. Then I sat up and said nothing. Hahaha….that was my “see what she does” goofball thing last night!

        • oh ok well maybe I will write a new poem IDK???

I forgot to do something goofy – will have to do something today then… πŸ˜‰ … what did you think of the movie? I was disappointed but I’ve definitly seen worse… I am rather partial to Chris Hemsworth mind you – although this movie did not really accent his attractiveness… (dirty and hairy isn’t really my thing)
