Across a Bloody Ocean (A poetic response)

Where are you my love
you are not here
where you belong
beside me
you are instead
across a bloody ocean

I could swim in the
cool grey ocean
that is your eyes
get lost at sea
go under
drown

Heart beats fast
life blood pulses
thru veins
rythym builds
Titans prepare
for war

Great storm builds
waves crash
farther, higher
rolling deep
beneath watery
covers

Thunder claps
seagulls cry
the storm peaks
waves crest
upon cavernous
shores

All is at peace
still and listless
breathing
a gentle memory
that once was
love across a bloody ocean

  1. This was strong. Sacrifice beckons the bliss. Bliss cries for the sacrifice.

    I loved it!!

  5. Hello Poppet, I’ve been a busy Bear tonight and arrive late and weary – but find your romance kindles a late fire in my tired heart!
We have started a ‘poetry blog’ – invite only – for the sharing, prompting and supporting of poetry by fellow bloggers, beginners to clever buggers! Would you like to come and play? Do let me know.
